'She'll be back...next week.'

Introducing Lorna Richards, the powerhouse behind three cosy sheltered schemes in Rhondda Cynon Taf. As a Sheltered Scheme Coordinator at Trivallis, she’s on a mission to ensure every tenant feels safe, supported, and right at home.

Despite only being at Trivallis for six months, Lorna has quickly become a familiar face in each scheme she works at. With her friendly approach and quick adaptability, she’s made the role her own in no time at all.

In Lorna’s world, every day is an adventure. From carrying out safety checks to helping new tenants settle in, she’s the go-to person for anything and everything.

“As I move between schemes, my tasks change constantly,” Lorna explains. “One minute, I’m helping someone with paperwork, and the next, I’m sorting out bills or organising repairs. It’s always busy, but never boring!”

At the heart of Lorna’s work is her dedication to her tenants’ well-being. Regular visits ensure everyone is doing okay, and getting tenants extra support when needed.

“In our visits, I make sure to chat with each tenant,” Lorna says. “It’s not just about ticking boxes; it’s about making sure everyone feels looked after.”

But it’s not all serious stuff for Lorna.

Tenant meetings are fun and lively gatherings where ideas flow freely and laughter fills the air. From discussing concerns to planning social events, it’s all about building a sense of community that the tenants want.

And for Lorna, joining in on the fun when she can, is the best part of her job. Lorna shares: “Whether it’s supporting tenants to set up breakfast mornings, or helping to organise new activities, these moments bring us closer.”

“In the end, it’s the little things that matter.” Lorna reflects. “Together, we’re not just building houses; we’re building homes filled with love and laughter.”
